thrilling and daunting

with Elise Otto and Paul Hupfer

Cape Town, two years ago. The city held a special energy—a blend of vibrant creativity and natural beauty—and it was there that I had the chance to collaborate with Elise Otto and Paul Hupfer, two incredible models represented by Kult Models South Africa. It was a pivotal moment in my journey as a photographer.

I was still finding my voice in the industry, feeling the weight of every detail. Working with Elise and Paul, who had years of experience in front of the camera, felt both thrilling and daunting. They brought with them a calm confidence, a professionalism that I admired deeply. But what struck me most was their kindness and willingness to make the shoot feel like a true collaboration.

The day of the shoot, Cape Town blessed us with golden light and a soft breeze—nature's own perfect backdrop. We moved through the city streets and along the coastline, capturing moments that felt raw and real. Elise's grace and Paul's ease brought my vision to life in a way I hadn't anticipated. Watching them move effortlessly, connecting with the camera and with each other, was mesmerizing.

A collaboration with both of them and Dominik Berberich, who was capturing everything on film was such a special moment I probably never forget. But it wasn't just about the images we created; it was about the growth I experienced that day. I learned to trust my instincts, to embrace the nerves, and to channel that energy into something meaningful. Elise and Paul showed me that even seasoned professionals value connection, spontaneity, and authenticity—qualities I now carry with me in every project.

Looking back, that day in Cape Town stands out as a reminder of why I do what I do: for the stories

And the best part of all of that are the connections, the moments when everything clicks, both in front of and behind the lens.
